YOUR’E AMAZING

Amongst the many things that I have believed as a person, to which end I can not count, stands a distinct entity – that the ability of the human being is not fathomable. When I say the human race, I do not mean the super creatures you see on telly or in the movies neither do I mean the fanciful characters of society – the adored and highly rated men of then or now. My very imagination dawns on You. You are that Human being I am insisting on. Yes… You. The one in a million people who decided not to neglect the invite to read this piece.

Take a break. Sermon a pause and run on a journeys glance through the number of years your very life has spanned. Hasn’t it been exceptional the many challenges you have overcomed? Is it not breathtaking the tiny petty things you have brought along to existence in this world? Extend a bit of a detailed search. The various situations you have had to adjust abruptly to so as to come out tops? Think of the blank sheet you were at birth and currently the myriad of experience in diverse arena of life you yield. Aren’t those awesome feet you have up there?

You Can.

THE PHYSICIANS OATH

I have come to realize based on personal experiences how special we are as a people. How distinct and capable God made us. Each one of us and how unlimited the stretch of our ability and capabilities are. Looking back three years ago after medical school, on the day when I stood to swear in the Physicians Oath, though gallantly I stood among over other two hundred and fifty like fated beings, a great pile of doubt kept running through the same poised mind signaling if I was fit enough for the oath I was confidently committing to.  Never had I prescribed a medication. Never had I diagnosed a condition without waiting for a correct check from a lecturer. Never had I held a scalpel to incise into a fellow being. Never had it been that I had to make a call on deeming a fellow being mortal – a tiny list of the umpteen things that remained unkown.

A few years later and all those doubts seem to have vanished into nothingness. The many things which stood a scare have rather become second nature. Many akin who stood with me on that day of oath swearing can now confidently open up a live fellow, meander their way to where the issue remains, correct the wrongs and skillfully weave the lives of their subjects back to normalcy.

This is one sub – section of the many facets of many innumerable walks and phases of life we find ourselves in. Think of the many areas humans have exploited and made mind-blowing achievements.

An Oath Sworn. A Committment to Live By.

MY WRITING CHALLENGE – The Marathon.

About six weeks ago, I got previewed to a writing challenge – a link a friend put up on a whatsapp group page – which I signed up for blindly without knowing what the details were going to be. All I knew was the title, “Ghana Writers Marathon 2020”. It stated a six months continuous writing challenge for writers across all genre of writing. I signed up for poetry and essay writing. Then the T&C’s were released. For poets, we were required to write at least one poem a day for 6 consecutive months. That meant 30 poems a month and 180 poems in 6 months. On first thought, it seemed unrealistic. How possible? My best writing ability had been 30 pieces a year. A whole 12 months: 365 days. Here I am, now having to write 30 poems a month. Where will the motivation come from? Will I not be drained and end up writing something about nothing?

Well, to cut a boring story short, the first month ended and I had my 30 poems ready for submission. Then I realized the quantum of writing ability that had remained untapped over the previous weeks and months.

TO END

If you ever felt like incapable, if you ever thought it isn’t possible, if someone ever whispered “you can’t” into your pinna, look them in the eye and say “I can, Its possible. it is just a matter of time.”

Let me leave you with these quotes:

Believe in your infinite potential. Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself. Believe in yourself, your abilities and your own potential. Never let self doubt hold you captive. You are worthy of all that you dream of and hope for.

Roy T. Bennet, The Light in the Heart.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
